The electric two-wheelers and their popularity in India have been growing by exponential margins particularly in the last decade and more specifically in the last 5 years. Though what has been plaguing this growth is the anxiety related to the range of the vehicles and also the issues related to the infrastructure of charging which in a major way stop the markets of electric mobility from realizing their true potential. However a company which is based in Bengaluru known as Meladath Auto Components has been able to come up with a solution which is being hailed as a brilliant one. This company is offering kits that are retrofittable which means that they can convert the scooters which are powered by petrol into hybrid scooters.
The company has claimed that this e-kit can be attached to any scooter without much modification. Further, it can be retrofitted in only 30 minutes. The key point of this kit is that scooters can then be ridden in the pure EV as well as the petrol mode. Till date, Meladath has not revealed the details however it is claiming a range of about 40km when it comes to the pure EV mode. This manufacturer has been further working on various technologies which can enable this e-kit to charge the scooter up while it is mobile.
This is going to be a major boost to the customers who are planning to move to the electric two-wheelers and through this method they will not have to wait for the vehicle to be completely charged and also get a decent range. The manufacturer is also planning an electric scooter which is made in India.
