Amazon Critical Of Pentagon For Handing JEDI Contract To Microsoft

Amazon is not expected to follow in the footsteps of companies such as Google when it comes to the changing their minds on military contracts. Jeff Bezos has said that the country of the United States was going to face a lot of trouble if the large companies were to turn their back on the Military Department. He argued further and said that the Americans had been the good guys and there was a need for the advantage of the United States over its other rivals being maintained specially in the areas such as spaceflight, which is an area where China is looking like it is catching up.

Bezos also made it clear that Amazon is going to continue to fight for further business of military even though the Pentagon had voted in Microsoft’s favor for the JEDI contract. He said that they were going to support the defense department saying that the country holds importance.

The tech icon is not in uniform support of the administration and has accused that the department handed over the contract to JEDI due to the anti-Amazon bias of Donald Trump. Jeff Bezos has already in the business of the public sector in the way of facial recognition projects and the Blue Origin for which it has long-term plans that will handle the military rocket launches.

The stance of Amazon is not very different from the one which has been taken by Microsoft who had defended the contracts against the objecting employees who did not support their work being used for purposes of combat. This is an indication that there is not going to be much tolerance for critics in these big tech companies.
