The renting service Airbnb is now taking a lot of steps for cracking down on the parties and troublesome guests after the shooting incident that happened on Halloween in a suburb near San Francisco at an Airbnb which led to the killing of five people.
On Thursday, the company has said that it is going to ban the parties that have an open invite at each of its accommodations. The parties which are open to everyone and are usually advertised through social media are the most common and have been banned.
Airbnb has said that the boutique hotels and venues for professional events are going to be bound to follow this rule. The company which is based out of San Francisco is also going to ban large parties at condos and apartment buildings.
The company has in its news release said that this policy is not going to impact the parties which have been authorized by the hosts and are being respectfully convened by the guests. Their goal according to them through this new policy is to ensure that the guests who end up acting in an irresponsible manner and the usual hosts whose homes have become a nuisance for the neighborhood.
Airbnb has also said that it is currently in process to identify the listings globally which might violate the ban on party houses which include accommodations based in Miami Beach, Los Angeles, Montreal, and London. The company is also going to ask its host to update their listings in order to comply with this ban on open invites. The company is also going to issue new rules for behavior. The guests from next year, for example, will be getting a warning for excessive noise and other such violations.
