Flu Season may not be the most severe this time around

The flu is season is continuing to hit the young adults and children very hard with the CDC reporting this Friday that there are twice the number of deaths in children due to flu thus far in this year than it had been during the same time in last year.

The second strain of this virus which usually infects the people who are younger has become widespread as per the reports of CDC.

The experts have said that the flu this season may end up overall being a lot less severe on the basis of two indicators which show severity, deaths and hospitalization. This is because the prominent virus strain in this season are hitting the people who are younger and healthier.

The season till now has been distinguishing itself from the ones in the years gone by with the early rising in the strain of this virus which is known as the B/Victoria. This strain doesn’t usually end till the end of the flu season which lasts till April and has begun in the month of October however the activity may last till May in some cases as per the CDC.

This strain of the flu has a chance of striking the children as per the experts. The doctors have said that there were many children and younger adults who have been present this time. This is a clear reflection that the flu B has been dominant. The doctors have advised anyone who is over the age of 6 months to get their flu shots even though the vaccination might not be the perfect remedy, it is the best chance of protection from this flu outbreak
