Previously this year, Sony declared that some of its high-end televisions might include support for Apple’s HomeKit and AirPlay 2 protocols. Now, Sony is offering that support to extra televisions. As per media, the upgrade is accessible on the 2018 Z9F and A9F devices, along with the 2019 Z9G, A9G, X850G, and X950G televisions in Canada, the US, and Latin America.
AirPlay 2 will let consumers stream content straight from their iPad, iPhone, or Mac, and with support for HomeKit, consumers will be capable of controlling their compatible device with the help of the Home app or Siri. As media claimed when HomeKit and AirPlay 2 launched for Sony’s A9G Series OLEDs, Z9G Series 8K LCDs, and X950G 4K LCD TVs, the upgrade mixes Apple’s technology with the Android TV service. There is no technical purpose this cannot happen, but it is still appealing to see.
