Flu season hits the Las Vegas valley with one death already

The valley of Las Vegas has seen the arrival of the Flu season and already a person has died due to this virus.

It has been reported by South Nevada Health District that a senior resident from Clark County has succumbed to the illness which is related to flu in the previous week. It has also been related that there were 64 cases of the illness which have been confirmed in the season’s first five weeks in comparison to the 12 which happened at the same time in the previous year.

The officials have said that the deaths from flu do not happen directly because of the flu but usually from the flu which leads to pneumonia or other major illnesses which happen due to flu and the ones which hospitalize someone to an extent that they just cannot fight from it.

The officials as reported that the number of the flu vaccine has been very high so far and by they also said that the population which is over 65 years has been protecting themselves.

They further added that they have been keeping an eye on the flu proceedings in Australia where the season of flu has started a little earlier and has been sever with the strain named H3N2. This is the same strain which had hit them two years ago.

This strain is also going to play a major part in the efficacy of the flu shot according to them. They said that they do think that the shot is going to be a strong one however they do think that it is not going to be as strong as it was in the other years. This is because H3N2 is a predominant strain which is a wily one and it is going to mutate extremely quickly.
