Google employees alarmed by company’s latest software update

Employees of Google are raising their concern about the new initiative taken by the company. Google has recently made changes to their calendar system, but some employees claim that it is a deliberate attempt to suppress their voices.

This is an evidence of rising disharmony between employees and the company. Google employees want that their opinion should be considered before company takes any key decisions.

As of now important issues Google employees are voicing their concern are pay packages offered to the executives who have been accused of sexual harassment. Employees also believe that Google should not work on contracts offered by US Military.

The change to the calendar system, which the company has made recently, Google employees consider it a surveillance tool aimed to bring the discipline. The new tool implemented by Google is raising alerts to the management when an employee creates an event in the calendar, with 10+ rooms or 100 or more participants. Google employees have voiced their dissent to the change.

A year back Google employees had staged protest because they were not happy the way Google handled incident of sexual harassment by executives and employees were not happy about Google plan to develop a censored search engine for China. Also employees were against Google working on a project offered by Pentagon, which can assist to drone strikes.

Two employees have accused that Google wants revenge against them after they had planned previous year protests. On Monday, in Zurich, Google employees planned meeting to create union, despite the fact that Google tried to disrupt meeting.

In explanation, Google has said that the changes made to the calendar are their efforts to fight the spam and the claims by the employees regarding the purpose are completely incorrect. It is just pop-up reminder, to beware employees when they add event with large number of participants.
